Our Mission

A holistic and strength-based approach to caring for older adults facing health care challenges and life transitions.

About Dina Zempsky

As a young girl I had a close and special relationship with my grandfather. Since that time, I have been passionate about working with elders, the stories they share, and the resilience they demonstrate. As a licensed clinical social worker I have worked professionally with older adults for over twenty-five years, always with the approach of preserving their autonomy and independence and inspiring creativity. Along the way, my career has allowed me the opportunity to engage in some exciting professional experiences in the field of aging:

  • Develop a recording project for people with dementia for the national public media project StoryCorps

  • Consult on two PBS films, Almost Home and Nine to Ninety

  • Teach a class at Oral History Summer School

  • Serve as a board member for the nonprofit Dance for Parkinson’s in conjunction with Mark Morris Dancing

  • Lecture at the social work schools at New York University and Hunter College

  • Co--author a chapter for the Social Workers’ Desk Reference

I recently left my career in nonprofit aging services to start the next chapter and begin my own Geriatric Care Practice. I am thrilled to devote myself full-time to direct service with older adults and their caregivers, customize care plans, troubleshoot emergencies, and support life planning that is individualized and respectful.
